What starts in the book becomes an everyday routine
Brushing teeth is often the hardest moment of the day. When your child already knows the motions from the fabric book — velcro open, velcro closed, cow's mouth all clean — the real toothbrush becomes a familiar next step.
From endless “Are we there yet?” to calm, quiet travel
Traveling with a child often means a lot of waiting. A Travel Buddy gives your little one
plenty of varied, screen-free play - and gives you those precious moments when calm finally settles in.
Step by step toward independence
Tying a bow takes patience - and plenty of tries. When your child practices the motions playfully in their Quiet Book, the cross, the loop and the knot become familiar step by step. A tricky task turns into a little moment of pride.
Fewer toys on the floor. More adventures in the book.
Our learning toys pack many play ideas into one compact fabric book - so creative playtime doesn't automatically mean more mess.
Tomorrow's skills are built in today's play
Closing a zip. Undoing buttons. Tying shoelaces. The buckle on the car seat. The pincer grip that later holds a pencil. These are the moments when a child first says: “By myself!” Our learning toys train exactly these skills — step by step, with joy instead of pressure. And one day, your child ties their shoes all on their own.

HOW CHILDREN REALLY LEARN
“Early learning works through all the senses. These fabric books start exactly where babies and toddlers grasp the world — through touch, sight and sound.”

“What convinces me: Jolly Designs combines educational depth with genuine play. Children stay engaged — and that's exactly what learning depends on.”

“As a doctor in pediatric medicine and a mom, I love Quiet Books. Children often have plenty of toys, but not always meaningful ones. Quiet Books are different: they support and challenge children, improving fine motor skills, logical thinking, hand-eye coordination and attention. They also let children play through everyday situations and support language development.”

Spare Parts Service
A felt piece has gone missing – the favorite character, the carrot, the little car. And suddenly the favorite book is missing a piece. With our spare parts service, you can simply reorder lost pieces – so your Quiet Book stays complete and lasts for years, instead of ending up in a corner.
How one mom's moment grew into a brand
Behind Jolly Designs is a family with a deep passion for creativity and early childhood development. It all began when our son Nevaan was diagnosed with a speech development disorder. Searching for toys that would truly support him – with his hands, his senses, and without a screen – we sewed the first fabric book ourselves. Today, over 60,000 families put their trust in it.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's on your mind?
Jolly Designs was founded in 2017 by Nishtha Jolly — with the vision of creating high-quality, thoughtfully designed toys that truly accompany children's development instead of ending up in the bin after a short time. Today we are one of the first and largest Quiet Book brands in Europe, with over 60,000 happy customers and more than 6,700 reviews. We believe in craftsmanship, in educational care, and that good toys don't have to be loud to make a real difference.
Three things: First, the handcraft. Every page, every flap, every activity is sewn by hand. Second, the educational depth. We develop our products together with a team of pediatricians, speech therapists, occupational therapists and early childhood educators, so every task is truly meaningful. Third, the durability. Our products aren't throwaway toys. They accompany children for years and are often passed on to siblings or friends.
We have made our products in India since day one — in a family-run workshop that belongs to the family of our founder, Nishtha Jolly. So this isn't an anonymous supplier relationship, it's a personal one: Nishtha knows the team members by name, knows their families and their stories. That's exactly why craftsmanship matters to us just as much as fair wages, safe working conditions and schooling for our team members' children. The embroidery, the felt sewing, the loving attention to detail — this is a craft with a long tradition, and we're proud that it's this very workshop that makes our books and toys.
We work closely with a team of educators and therapists: pediatricians, speech therapists, occupational therapists and early childhood educators. Every task in our books — every zip, every velcro activity, every flap — is checked to make sure it genuinely supports development. That's the difference from toys that are merely meant to look educational: we build what actually works.
Yes — very deliberately so. We mostly use OEKO-TEX®-certified materials. All small parts are securely sewn in. We know that babies put everything in their mouths and toddlers pull hard — and that's exactly what our fabric books, Calmi Cubes, felt masks and all our other products are designed for.
We get it. Our products aren't throwaway toys — they're handmade, developed with educators and therapists, and built for years of use. Many of our customers tell us that a single book replaces an entire toy box and accompanies their child through several developmental stages. Per month of use, that often works out to just a few euros — for something that stays, long after so much else has been cleared out.
