Gifts that do more than just bring joy
Finding the perfect gift for a child is not easy. It should bring joy, be something special - and, ideally, also be meaningful. This is exactly what the handmade educational toys from Jolly Designs stand for.
Whether as a gift for a birth, a christening, a first birthday, or starting school: our cloth books, Travel Buddies, and Calmi Cubes are Montessori-inspired, pedagogically well thought out, and lovingly handcrafted. They promote fine motor skills, concentration, and independent learning - and grow with the child over the years.
With our personalization, every toy becomes a gift with meaning. And if you're unsure: you can never go wrong with a gift voucher.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's on your mind?
Jolly Designs was founded in 2017 by Nishtha Jolly — with the vision of creating high-quality, thoughtful toys that truly support children's development instead of ending up in the trash after a short time. Today, we are one of the first and largest quiet book brands in Europe, with over 60,000 satisfied customers and more than 6,700 reviews. We believe in craftsmanship, educational diligence, and that good toys don't have to be loud to be effective.
Three things: Firstly, the craftsmanship. Every page, every flap, every activity is hand-stitched. Secondly, the pedagogical depth. We develop our products together with a team of pediatricians, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and early childhood educators to ensure that every activity is meaningful. Thirdly, durability. Our products are not disposable toys. They accompany children for several years and are often passed on to siblings or friends.
Since our founding, we have been manufacturing our products in India, in a family business that belongs to the family of our founder, Nishtha Jolly. This is not an anonymous supplier relationship, but a personal one: Nishtha knows the employees by name, their families, their stories. That is precisely why craftsmanship is just as important to us as fair wages, safe working conditions, and the right to education for the employees' children. The embroidery, the felt-sewing, the loving detail work are a traditional craft, and we are proud that it is precisely this workshop that produces our books and toys.
We work closely with a team of educators and therapists: pediatricians, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and early childhood educators. Every task in our books, every zipper, every hook-and-loop activity, every flap is checked to ensure that it genuinely supports development. This is the difference compared to toys that are merely supposed to "appear educational": We build what truly works.
Yes, quite deliberately. We predominantly use OEKO-TEX® certified materials and have our products tested for safety by TÜV. All small parts are securely sewn. We know that babies put everything in their mouths and toddlers pull strongly, and our cloth books, Calmi Cubes, felt masks, and all other products are designed precisely for that.
We understand well. Our products are not disposable toys—they are handmade, developed with educators and therapists, and designed for years of use. Many of our customers write to us that a single book replaces an entire toy box and accompanies their children through several developmental phases. Per month of use, this often amounts to only a few euros—for something that remains when much else has long been discarded.
